Vaulta Case Study

Taking a Small Family-Owned Business Completely Off-Grid with Vaulta’s Revolutionary Batteries

Project Overview

The ongoing power crises in Australia are on the rise. The shortage of electricity is not only faced by large-scale industries but also small-scale ventures are suffering power from energy crunch. One such family-owned business that reached out to Vaulta with concerns about electricity scarcity was Coastal Green Electric.

The Problem

Coastal Green Electrical is a small family-owned business in Northern New South Wales which has been established for two decades. Their work revolves around helping clients with their electrical, solar, communication, security and air-conditioning needs.

Their business was getting power supply from a micro-grid as they were situated in a localized area. As a result, they were getting a limited range of power supply (which is the case with microgrids), whereas their demand was higher. The venture was facing an electricity power supply shortfall, which is something their business could not afford at any cost due to the nature of their business.

The Challenge

Coastal Green Electrical wanted a smooth and cost-effective solution to ensure a wide range of uninterrupted electricity supply to their business. They wanted a productive power backup solution to uphold their business operational efficiency, protect equipment, and maintain reliability for customers. The major need of Coastal Green Electrical was to get a substantive amount of power backup that would give them energy independence and resilience. This way, their business workflow won’t stop at any cost.

Our Solution

After understanding the problem faced by Coastal Green Electrical, our expert engineers and technicians at Vaulta kicked off by thoroughly inspecting and researching the business and its area. They had one family home, two separate dwellings, a small work shed and some agriculture. Moreover, their business had an energy consumption of 150 kWh per day.

After considering this, we came up with the constructive idea of commissioning six 85 kWh batteries to take them completely off the grid. These would be connected to 45 kW Victorian inverters. We also added a diesel generator for enhanced backup.

Installation

The installation of our high-powered batteries is smooth, simple and fast. Our team first collaborated with our respected client, Coastal Green Electrical, as they wanted to spend some time on customer planning the circuitry and assessing the size of the system.

The result?

With Vaulta’s energy backup solution, Coastal Green Electric now operates with unwavering resilience and a dependable power supply. Our six-battery storage system, combined with Victorian inverters and a diesel generator now powers Coastal Green for days without disruption. This ensures their business never misses a beat, even in times of regional power scarcity. The result? Coastal Green Electric is now fully powered, energy-independent, and better prepared to serve clients, no matter the grid’s limitations.
Coastal Green Electric can focus on what they do best, now backed by reliable power and peace of mind.
